Lawn Show Report - July 10, 2005
Blue skies, delicious barbeque smells and a loaded raffle prize table greeted club members and guests at this year’s annual lawn show hosted by club president Ernie Silveri. The traditional picnic and outdoor pigeon show was a well attended event with club members from the lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and Washington state getting together to renew acquaintences, discuss this year’s breeding results and their plans for winter show season.
The show tent featured around 100 birds shown by a dozen exhibitors. The judging duties were ably handled by Zarko Vuckovic (pouters and croppers), Roger Hansen (all other fancy) and Bob Sutherland (flying). All three judges put their heads together to pick a champion of the show:In addition to our annual trophies awarded for fancy, flying and junior entries, we also provided best of breed commemorative certificates, which included the breed photo and a photo of George Van Vliet. Many thanks to Dave Williamson for assisting Barry Sky with taking the breed photos. As you can imagine, this was an all day process.

The show awards presentations followed and the event wrapped up with prize raffle draws in the late afternoon. All who attended agreed the fine weather, good food, competitive pigeon show and the opportunity to meet other club members made for a very enjoyable day.
